The Eves

Music    Band

Hailed by the Sunday People recently as their ‘Tip for the Top’ in 2009, it’s clear that The Eves have already created quite a stir in the national press. And it’s not difficult to understand why! Dark lyrical themes intertwined with soaring guitar melodies and sweeping synths are the hallmark of this brand new indie rock foursome from Wolverhampton.

Citing New Order, Smashing Pumpkins and Interpol amongst their influences, you can hear this in their rich and urgent driving sound. Songs tend to form organically from manic and epic jamming sessions - when Greg Asbury (vocals/keyboards), Steve ‘norf’ Northwood (vocals/guitar), Graham Richards (bass) and Jonny Hughes (drums) get together in the same room, amazing things happen and the magic music dust gets to work! Get yourself down to one of their live gigs to hear the staggering results. Signed to local indie label, Post Office Records, they released their debut single ‘Movie Star’ on 7 Feb and it available now on itunes. Check them out at www. myspace. com/theevesuk. Are The Eves on the eve of greatness in 2009?

Upcoming shows in the West Midlands:

Fri 13 Feb - Sunflower Lounge, Birmingham
Sat 18 Apr - Wharf Bar, Walsall
Fri 15 May - The Flapper, Birmingham
