Press Release for I/O Earth
Music Band
I/O EARTH, the debut double album by Birmingham band I/O Earth features world class guest musicians and the outstanding vocal talents of Steve Balsamo, who was chosen by Andrew Lloyd-Webber to play Jesus in the West End revival of “Jesus Christ Superstar”.
I/O Earth is the brain child of Birmingham based composers Dave Cureton and Adam Gough, multi-talented musicians who have been performing together since they met in a music class at school, and realised that they had the same ambition – to create music which would appeal to a wide audience by blending a variety of musical genres. This resulted in the massive project “I/O Earth” which, after 3 years in the making, has just been released as a double CD with accompanying DVD.
I/O Earth has received enthusiastic feedback, not least from their worldwide “myspace family” of fans and has been compared to the likes of Pink Floyd, Mike Oldfield, Yes, and Enya, whilst maintaining the unique, huge I/O production.
When Dave and Adam approached Steve Balsamo, they were nervous as to how such an acclaimed singer would respond to the simple demo invitation from an unknown band, but as he Steve says on a video on their myspace page, his reaction when he played it was “I loved what I heard”. He goes on to say “I’m very attracted to the music the band are making because it kind of shows off the whole range of my voice. It goes from very low and quite intimate singing to very big and I suppose powerful rock singing”
They received similar reactions from the guest musicians who they invited to be a part of the production, who were excited to find such an eclectic blend of musical genres in one project.
The album has only been on sale a few weeks through the bands website http://www.ioearth.com/and everyday new orders are being received for the albums with fans eager to receive the first pressing as they are limited edition numbered copies signed by Dave and Adam.
The I/O Earth fanbase has spread worldwide, with orders from as far away as Australia, and will soon be taking I/O Earth on the road to perform some live shows in the UK (maybe with a special guest or two) just watch this space!
